Two time Stanley Cup champion Brad Richards has decided to retire. The Murray Harbour, Prince Edward Island native was drafted 64th overall in 1998 by the Lightning. During his 15 seasons in the NHL he played 1126 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Dallas Stars, New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings.

He won two Stanley Cup championships (one with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004 and one with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2015), as well as the Conn Smythe Trophy and the Lady Byng Trophy.

With Richards hanging up his skates, he along with Pavel Datsyuk and Vincent Lecavalier mark the end of an era of players from the 1998 draft.
