Mark Messier played in the NHL between 1979–2004 with the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and Vancouver Canucks and still remains second on the NHL all-time scoring list, with 1887 regular season points, only behind Wayne Gretzky.
Six time Stanley Cup champion (5 times with the Edmonton Oilers, 1 time with the New York Rangers) , he is considered by many to be one of the greatest hockey players of all time, and the only player to captain two different teams to professional championships.
Messier was awarded the Hart Trophy twice as the NHL’s most valuable player, in 1990 and 1992, and also won the Conn Smythe Trophy for the most valuable player during the Stanley Cup playoffs. In 2015, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
